In order to add or subtract fractions, they must have the same denominator.
Change one of these fractions to have the same denominator as the other one, and you'll be able to add them.

To add or subtract fractions you must have the same denominator.
This is the process how you can solve this:
First, to make the denominator same multiply 1/3 by 2. 1/6+1/3 Now add the numerators 1/6+2/6 Lastly, simplify 3/6=1/2
Hope it helped!

To solve 6 1 + 3 1 , first find a common denominator, which is 6. Convert 3 1 to 6 2 , then add to get 6 3 , which simplifies to 2 1 .
