Explain why the graph [tex]y < x[/tex] cannot lie in Quadrant II.

Quadrant 2 is the top left quadrant on a cartesian plane. In this quadrant, all x-values are negative and all y-values are positive. Therefore, all x-values are less than y-values so y < x cannot be in this quadrant.
