mitochondria is an organelle located in a cell, it is mainly recognized as the powerhouse of the cell. it is in charge of providing energy to the cell, in order to carry out its functions. it breaks down ingested food by the cell and turns it into energy. energy not used is known as ATP and is stored energy, is used when needed. you're welcome!

Mitochondria are a n organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane, the inner layer being folded inward to form layers (cristae).

Mitochondria are membrane-bound organelles found in eukaryotic cells, known as the "powerhouses" of the cell due to their role in generating ATP, the main energy currency. They have a double-membrane structure with folds that increase surface area for energy production. Mitochondria are present in almost all eukaryotic cells, with a higher concentration in energy-demanding cells like muscle cells.
