Use parentheses to make the equation true:

\[ 9 \times 1 \times 5 = \, ? \]

Asked by spotts0806ray

Answer (3)

(9 x1) x 5 = 9 x 5 = 45
9 x (1 x 5) = 5 x 9 = 45
So it doesn't matter where the parentheses were suppose to go as you can see I worked it both ways and the answer is the same.
Hope this helps you. :-)

You can place the parentheses anywhere cause if you do (9x1)5 it will equal 45. And if you do (5x1)9 it will also be 45. So where ever you put it , it will equal the same amount. But, jus in case next time asked your teacher or friends for further help.

The equation 9 × 1 × 5 can be correctly expressed with parentheses as either ( 9 × 1 ) × 5 or 9 × ( 1 × 5 ) , both resulting in the same final answer of 45. The placement of parentheses does not affect the outcome in this case. Thus, both forms are valid and equal to 45.
