Two equilateral triangles, but one has sides measuring 3 cm, while the other measures 6 cm. The figures are similar, but not congruent

Similar figures share the same shape but can differ in size, which means they are not always congruent. An example is two rectangles, one measuring 4 cm by 2 cm and the other 8 cm by 4 cm; they are similar but not congruent. This disproves the conjecture that all similar figures are necessarily congruent.
