The North American Free Trade Organization (NAFTA) is an example of a regional free trade bloc. The goal of regional free trade blocs are to promote trade amongst nations within a particular geographic region. This particular trade bloc took place in North America and similar free trade blocs have been created in other regions of the world.
NAFTA is a regional trade agreement established in 1994 among the United States, Canada, and Mexico to promote economic integration by eliminating trade barriers. It aimed to enhance trade, investment, and job creation in North America. In 2020, it was replaced by the USMCA, which updated its provisions.
