Living things eat food that was produced by the sun. If they are a carnivore (only eats meat) it will it another animal that once at the plants. If there wasn't the sun to produce the food the herbivore (one who eats plants) would die of starvation. Then the carnivore would also die because it didn't have a herbivore to eat
The sun provides energy to living things primarily through photosynthesis, where plants convert sunlight into food. Herbivores eat these plants to obtain energy, and carnivores eat the herbivores, creating a food chain connected to solar energy. Decomposers also play a role by recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem.
