What is the meaning of "some of us had two worlds"?

I would say that some people live two different lives with an extreme mythical example being the bold man of action Superman and the mild-mannered Clark Kent who appear to be opposites and mutually exclusive. In fact some people may work quietly in an office by day for a big corporation and in the evening be engaged in progressive political actions. Also, we all have within us the ability to become something which we aren't ie a fat person can become thin, a quiet shy person can become assertive and a person who favors the establishment can learn to love the poor masses of people as Archbishop Romero did in El Salvador who changed from being a conservative priest to an Archbishop who challenged the bloodshed caused by the oligarchy in the civil war in the 1980's.
