Direct democracy(also known as pure democracy) is a form of democracy in which people decide (eg. vote on, form consensus on) policy initiatives directly. The differs from the majority of most currently established democracies, which are representatives democracy.
In a direct democracy, citizens vote directly on government policies and laws rather than through elected representatives. This allows all eligible citizens to engage in decision-making processes for various initiatives, fostering direct involvement in governance. Examples include local town meetings and referendums on specific issues.
