Bulunya rontok di beberapa tempat, matanya satu kancingnya hilang dan diganti dengan jahitan benang, dan perutnya sudah tidak terlalu empuk lagi. Tapi Tobi sangat sayang pada Bobo. Bobo selalu ada di samping Tobi sejak ia kecil. Bobo menemani Tobi tidur, bermain, bahkan saat Tobi sakit.Suatu hari, Ibu Tobi sedang membersihkan rumah. Ibu melihat Bobo yang tergeletak di lantai. "Tobi, bonekamu ini sudah sangat jelek. Bagaimana kalau Ibu buang saja, ya? Kita beli yang baru, yang lebih bagus," kata Ibu sambil memegang Bobo.Tobi yang sedang bermain langsung berlari menghampiri Ibunya. Matanya berkaca-kaca. "Tidak, Ibu! Jangan buang Bobo! Bobo itu sahabat Tobi. Dia selalu ada untuk Tobi," kata Tobi sambil memeluk erat Bobo. Suaranya bergetar.Ibu Tobi terkejut melihat Tobi menangis. Maafkan Ibu ya, sudah membuatmu sedih," kata Ibu sambil mengelus rambut Tobi.Tobi memeluk Bobo semakin erat. Air matanya masih menetes membasahi bulu Bobo yang lusuh. "Terima kasih, Ibu. Tobi sayang Bobo," bisiknya.Malam itu, Tobi tidur memeluk Bobo seperti biasa. Tapi kali ini, Tobi merasa sedikit sedih. Ia tahu Bobo memang sudah tidak seperti dulu. Tapi bagi Tobi, Bobo tetap boneka terbaik di dunia. Ia berjanji akan menjaga Bobo baik-baik selamanya, meskipun Bobo sudah semakin tua dan lusuh. Karena bagi Tobi, Bobo bukan hanya boneka, tapi juga bagian dari kenangan masa kecilnya yang tak ternilai harganya. Ia memejamkan mata, berharap Bobo akan terus menemaninya dalam mimpi-mimpi indahnya.
