The equation m − 2 ( m − 1 )  = 1 − 3 ( m − 2 )  is solved by eliminating fractions and simplifying. The solution yields m = 5 7  , or 1.4. This correct approach involves carefully applying the distributive property and basic algebraic principles.

m - (m - 1)/2 = 1 - (m - 2)/3
we try to get rid of the fractions first.
so, we multiply everything by 2
2m - (m - 1) = 2 - 2(m - 2)/3
and then everything by 3
6m - 3(m - 1) = 6 - 2(m - 2)
then we resolve the parentheses
6m - 3m + 3 = 6 - 2m + 4
3m + 3 = 10 - 2m
5m = 7
m = 7/5 ;
